yup, it’s a car going around a track, sounding like an engine sounds.

I saw a black one yesterday getting off the highway. I wish I wasn’t in the left lane because I would have chased it down. I was in the Exocet so I bet it would have been a fun conversation.

Somehow that LT2 sounds deeper and throatier with the Z51 than my LT4 does, but I am unsure how to explain it. Probably a completely different header/exhaust setup.
I also thought I’d hear more tire squeal.
That thing looks freaking quick, though. But it should be, with Z51 it’d be what, 75k out the door? I’m looking forward to the Z06/ZR1 variants, but this base C8 is probably enough race
car for anyone.

A few feet less exhaust + it has headers.

Though it sounds a lot like my stock LS6, just based off of the interior noise.

I need mine now... I also want to know what this sounds like with the roof off.

I am curious which of my cars will be louder. C8 with a shorter exhaust run but modern mufflers, resonators, cats, etc. Or foxbody with an H pipe straight into flowmaster 40s. Regardless which it is all I know is I win and my neighbors will probably hate me.

C5Zs are so damn interesting. I mean, I like my C7, but every time I talk to a C5Z owner I hear something else that I didn’t know that’s really interesting.

Definitely the Foxbody. It’ll be loud, but due to NVH standards of today, I don’t think it will be THAT loud.

Another odd/somewhat annoying fact about the C5 Z06: All of the glass is thinner. They went to almost Porsche levels of weight shedding on it, as it doesn’t even really have sound deadening.
Due to the exhaust positioning, you get more exhaust noise with the windows up.

See? Interesting! Also, I mean for NVH standards that’s probably a pain on long cruises, but I bet it heightens the driving experience.

With the super long 6th, you can’t hear much of it off throttle. It’s not bad, but I’ve never thought “I wish it were louder all of the time.” Cut-outs would be great though.

It looks really composed on track and the shifts are good, especially going down. And the fact that Matt can fit in there with a helmet gives me hope. Hopefully the cooling is vastly improved.

It might be slightly more aggressive.

Hmm, I do like how the LS6 gains and gains power all the way to the redline

It feels pretty torque less below 3500, if you aren’t watching the speedometer.

I would say it starts pulling from 2500 and it gets good above 4000

Cooling on the base C7 was never an issue, was it?

It really seemed like he was keeping the rpms down... Not letting it wind out at all.

From some I asked it wasn’t nowhere near as bad as the Z06, but left a lot to be desired.
